Academic honesty is of highest importance for research; and so is it for this course.

Rules of the department

The CS department has strict rules about collaborations and plagiarism

You may do a project that is related to your own research. However, you must properly cite and attribute any work that you have done outside of this course.

Project

You may use third-party code in the project, or discuss with other students in the class. However, you must attribute and cite any third-party code that you use in your project. You will need to be prepared to explain any part of the project.

ChatGPT and Friends

This course is about learning what systems research is. This involves reading papers and discussing them. Students may use AI tools such as ChatGPT as help for understanding general technical concepts.

However, the use of generative AI tools, including ChatGPT and other similar tools, to complete or support the completion of any form of assignment or assessment in this course is not allowed and would be considered academic misconduct.
